The coziness of autumn, allegories of light, and the whimsy of little critters is what fuels my creativity. Encouraged by the hope and light of the gospel, I often play with the idea of light both in an environment and as a theme. I also find joy in the autumn season and its warmth and symbols weave their way into my work. I start my drawings with a layer of watercolor, and render the details in colored pencil. This dynamic between the textures achievable with watercolors and colored pencils is something I love to explore in my work. 

I aspire to be an illustrator so I also translate my work into digital format. In my fascination with whimsical art, I am drawn to elaborate and exaggerated type styles which reflect that. I am also influenced by 1920s design styles and vintage inspired trends. I would love to illustrate for children's books in the future, so my designs are mostly geared towards a younger audience.
